Event rules
Event
- This is a mixed doubles round-robin competition
- Partners are drawn at random by the organiser
Sign Up
- All sign ups must be submitted online, scroll down.
- The sign up form will close on 28th September at 8pm
- This tournament is open to players aged 55 years old or over
- Entrants must be aged 55 or over as of the 1st October 2024
- Players must hold in date Wrecclesham TC membership to take part
- Players must be committed to organising and playing their matches within the dates
- If there is not an equal number of males and females, the organiser will notify players and explain what will happen
Draws
- Draws will be done on the 1st October 2024
- The organiser will notify entrants of the draw on the 1st/2nd October 2024
- Every player is responsible for checking the draw and contacting their oppositions
- This event is a round-robin tournament with the winners going through to the semi-finals or final (depending on entry numbers)
Matches
Arranging Matches
- A minimum of 3 evenly spaced dates must be offered
- All matches must be completed before the listed play by dates
- When you know your opponent/s you should make first contact within 5 days
- Everyone is responsible for contacting their opponents & partners to arrange matches
- If there is a problem arranging a match, you must contact Diane prior to the listed play by date, click here
Match Rules
- The tournament must be completed by the 31st December 2024
- All matches are best of 3 sets, with a tiebreak in the first two sets & a long third set
- All matches should be played within the LTA Fair Play Values of enjoyment and respect
- The winning player/pair are responsible for reporting their scores onto the draw sheet within 24 hours of match completion, or risk being defaulted from the tournament
Additional
- The organiser for this event is a volunteer
- Court bookings must be made online in advance
- Players must provide their own match tennis balls expect for the final
- Tennis balls will be available for general use in the clubhouse above the floodlight boxes
- Matches must not be played during any club social or event, without prior organisers consent
- Injuries or illness will not be considered as a reason to postpone/move any match past their play by dates
